DP continues accusations: Who does Sinan Idrizi work for?

For the second day in a row, the Democratic Party has issued accusations against Edi Rama, claiming he has committed an act of flagrant corruption by giving the tender for operating the "Air Albania" airline to a ghost company with just 100,000 lekë capital.

Through a statement issued by DP MP, Genc Strazimiri, the blue headquarters accused Rama of providing a "favor" to his friend, a businessman from Vlora, Sinan Idrizi, by providing a company, with which he is involved, the tender of operations.

The DP's claim goes on to say that the ghost company was created just 9 days before the government's special decision was been issued, therefore raising red flags.

"The state-owned AlbControl Company will finance the airline, which will be operated by a privately-owned company whose leader has personal relations with the Prime Minsiter; a company which has its own capital valued at just 100,000 lekë.

"This is the same businessman that the Democratic Party denounced in January as part of a corrupt affair, together with a Turkish company, over Vlora's Airport.

"Prior to the agreement for the new airport, Edi Rama was accompanied to Turkey by Sinan Idrizi," said Genc Strazimiri.

The Democratic Party claims that the money being invested in Air Albania is an attempt at money-laundering.

"From where is the money coming from for Air Albania? From the accounts of those whom Sinan Idrizi work for? For who is Edi Rama's friend cleaning this money?

"Are these investments in Air Albania dirty money from the Rama family or any dubious foundation? These are the kind of gigantic, corrupt affairs that hinder the opening of Albania's negotiations with the European Union.

The "Big fish" are in charge of the government and without their resignation there will be no European Albania," said Genc Strazimiri.

Yesterday the Democratic Party published a picture, where Sinan Idrizi, owner of the ghost company said to be tasked with operating Air Albania, was present at a high-level meeting with President Erdogan and Prime Minister Rama.
