'Albania works soil' 90 million euro fund from EU

Albania will soon receive the green light to take advantage of European Union funds for agriculture. There are 90 million Euros to be used for subsidies given to Albanian farmers.

During the visit to the "Albania Works Soil" fair, the new European Union ambassador to Albania stressed that agriculture is an important sector for the Albanian economy as he enjoyed traditional products such as raki.

“Agriculture is a very important part of the Albanian economy. What we can do in the European Union to help further? Offer this great financial support to make Albania even stronger in this sector.

“I think we are very close and I am happy to come here again with the prime minister and the minister to make this announcement,” said Luigi Soreca.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Niko Peleshi accepted that land allocation in small plots is a problem for Albanian agriculture.

Meanwhile farmers and craftsmen themselves complained during this fair that they find it difficult to find a market for their products.

The 2nd edition of the Fair "Albania Works Soil" will last two days and will include about 659 farmers from all over Albania, 70 food enterprises and 39 municipalities.
