500 MLN euro Eurobond, third application for Albania

For the third time, the Albanian government has issued a request to the international market for the receipt of Eurobond loan to the amount of 500 million Euros. 

This is the third time such a request has been issued, after the first instance in 2010 was repeated in 2015. The loan from 2015 is currently still active. 

The funds are being requested in order to reduce the budget defecit, as well to reconsolidate the terms for the active Eurobond which was issued in 2015. 

During his address to the Economy Commission, Finance Minister Arben Ahmetaj said that this move will not have an effect on the level of public debt, which continues to decline.

The loan has been requested for a 7 year term. 

According to Minister Ahmetaj, some international banks have already responded to the request and submitted their offers for assessment. 

The first time such a loan was taken out from the international markets in 2010, it was to the value of 300 million Euros. 

The second in 2015 was for an amount of 450 million Euros and now, in 2018, 500 millions Euros are being saught by the Albanian government.
